Dental Implants

A dental implant is an ideal option for replacing one or more missing teeth. Dental implants are titanium posts placed into the jawbone beneath your gums. After 1–4 months of healing, the implant fuses to your jawbone, providing stable support for a replacement tooth, or crown, to be mounted on top. Dentures or bridges mounted to implants won’t shift or slip in your mouth, which is especially important for:

  • Speaking confidently
  • Eating without discomfort

The patient needs to have healthy gums and adequate bone to receive implants. Occasionally, additional bone is needed to support the implant. Meticulous oral hygiene and regular dental visits are critical parts of the long-term success of dental implants.

Fixed Hybrid Implant Denture

A hybrid implant denture consists of dentures fixed onto 4–6 implants. Unlike traditional dentures, hybrid implant dentures are securely fixed in your mouth and won’t move around.

  • Dentures are permanently fixed and won’t shift
  • Often completed in a single day
  • Offers 80–90% functionality compared to natural teeth

Implant overdentures are for patients seeking a more stable prosthesis, improving retention, function, and speech. This acrylic denture snaps onto 2–6 implants and needs to be removed at night for proper hygiene.

Advantages of implant overdentures:

  • Excellent retention while speaking and chewing
  • Stability to chew most foods
  • Removable for easy cleaning

Mini Implants

Mini implants are small posts used to stabilize a loose denture. They are placed below the gums, providing small attachments for the denture to snap onto. The denture is then fitted with rubber caps, stabilizing it by snapping onto the mini implants.

  • Improved denture stability, reducing movement during speaking and eating
  • Less invasive placement procedure compared to regular implants
  • A quicker healing time with minimal discomfort
  • Cost-effective solution for denture stabilization
